To console us with the announcement of the postponement of the Early Access release, Path of Exile 2 presents us with an extensive and enticing gameplay video. What to shake Diablo 4?
As a reminder, Path of Exile 2 was supposed to be released in Early Access next week, on November 15th. However, due to several technical issues and server infrastructure issues, Grinding Gear Games has decided to postpone this until December 6th. A short three week delay made up for by a gameplay presentation full of new and interesting information.
Path of Exile shows off its many and promising new features
While the Vessel of Hatred DLC released on October 8th has brought a lot of good to Diablo 4, the threat posed by its biggest rival, Path of Exile 2, is becoming more and more noticeable. This will be released in Early Access in a short month, not only on PC but also on PS5 and Xbox Series. Grinding Gear Games’ free-to-play Hack’n Slash will take advantage of this to enable cross-play, cross-platform, and split-screen collaboration. Jonathan Rogers, director of the game, sat down with Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida to illustrate all of this in the video below.
We are therefore entitled to a better overview of what Path of Exile 2 offers in split-screen collaboration. This showcase also takes the opportunity to introduce us to the Mercenary, Warrior and Monk classes. The first will use explosive attacks from a distance, the second will hit anything that moves until death occurs, and the third will do more or less the same but with great mobility as a bonus.
This showcase also presents us with the major differences between Path of Exile 2 and its illustrious predecessor in terms of gameplay. Of particular note is the fact that the support gem system, which can be integrated into your equipment to unlock skills, should be much easier to achieve. The fights should also gain a lot of momentum thanks to now classic hack’n-slash mechanics such as dodging. Overall, Path of Exile 2 is still more promising. An appointment has been made to try all of this out in Early Access on December 6th.
