While the whole world is groaning under the corona crisis, the games market is blooming like never before – not least thanks to exciting releases such as Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

In corona times of all times, the physical PC and video game market reports the second most successful week of the current year. Not only does this benefit the new releases, there are also some surprises at the start.
For example, in the week from March 16 to 22, there was no game past Grand Theft Auto V on PS4. The premium edition of the game took first place without any problems and gave even the currently coveted Doom Eternal no chance that it could take second place behind it. The roles are reversed on Xbox One, where Doom Eternal is in first place, followed by GTA V.
Amazingly, a classic could shine on the PC. The pole position went clearly to The Sims 4, closely followed by Doom Eternal. With the Switch, Animal Crossing: New Horizons got off to a flying start and took first place. The Siberian medal went to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
