There are so many games coming in 2023 – we have The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a new Baldur’s Gate 3, a sequel to Skyrim that introduces the following innovations to the series: gun and boring. I’m talking about the star field. You know this, but I had to spell it out in the text because a certain tech giant took wordplay, nuance, and creativity to the back porch and shot them all into the head as a tribute to endless growth. Sacrifice of God. This doesn’t exist. God, or concept. hehe! We even have a sequel to Dead Island (called Dead Island 2).
Frankly, some of the best games ever came out last year. Infuriatingly, however, many of them come and go with little fanfare, as within days of release the news and hype cycle moves on to the next thing. Whether this is another huge, record-breaking franchise project, or a team gets fired after creating one. Yes, last year was just as good for the gaming industry. This is indeed the best of times and the worst of times.
Anyway, the point is, there were so many amazing games released last year that you’ve forgotten most of them. Of those games you forgot about, which one is the best?
