While I have no idea how he did it, Geoff Keighley has already announced that Gamescom’s opening night live stream will last two hours with more than 30 world premiere announcements.

After the event was forced to go online for two years due to the pandemic, Gamescom will finally be an in-person event from August 24-28, 2022 in Cologne, Germany. Meanwhile, to kick things off, Geoff Keighley confirmed that the Gamescom opening night live stream will be live in Germany on August 23rd.

For those wishing to attend the event in person, which is said to have thousands of fans, you can purchase a limited-edition ticket from Gamescom’s official website.

On the other hand, if you happen to be out of Germany this month and want to watch the show from the comfort of your home, you can. The opening night live stream will begin on August 23 at 11am PST / 2am ET / 1pm CDT / 7pm BST.

As Geoff Keighley himself said, the event will feature over 30 new shows and will run for two hours, which means there won’t be too much toilet time. So be sure to have snacks ready before the show.

Watch live from The Game Awards YouTube or Twitch channel.

As for what the events themselves will reveal, little is known. Keighley joked that the upcoming Sonic Frontiers will have a whole new look and the pinnacle of a new game from the developers of Subnautica, but that’s about it. If anything else gets teased in the meantime, we’ll be sure to update this space.

With 30+ reveals promised, and the dry content of the Summer Games festival still looming, I’m sure this year will meet my expectations. However, who knows what will happen?

What can you expect from Gamescom’s opening night live, will you be attending the event in person?
