This year, gamescom will again be opened by Geoff Keighley’s big show Opening Night Live – and now the first details have been made public as to what specifically awaits us.
While no major showcases and press conferences by individual heavyweights in the games industry have been made public to date, it is at least certain that the gamescom Opening Night Live will be held again this year. The well-known games journalist Geoff Keighley will lead through the show and this will probably be able to come up with the most important new announcements of the fair.
After only the staging of the event had been confirmed so far, Keighley himself now let further information follow via Twitter. Accordingly, the Opening Night Live will last around two hours. During the presentation, over 30 games will be shown on the stage – including some world premieres.
The event will be broadcast live on August 23rd. Fortunately, a few thousand fans are back in the audience and give the showcase a completely different flair. It should start at 8:00 p.m. German time; you can be there live via YouTube or Twitch.
At least one of the more than 30 games was confirmed a little later. According to Keighley, you can expect a brand new look at the upcoming Sonic Frontiers, centered around the famous blue hedgehog. And: The new game from the Subnautica makers, which will be released via Krafton’s PUBG makers, has also been confirmed for Opening Night Live since yesterday.
