GameStar reaches several million players every month, including many who are interested in technology such as smartphones or gadgets. In order to be able to offer this target group an even better contact point on GameStar in the future, we are massively expanding our tech area.
That’s what we’re looking for to 01.07.2022 several Tech Editors (m / f / d) with different levels of experience – regardless of whether you are a beginner or already have several years of professional experience – for our Munich office or from the home office.

You can help make GameStar a better place for tech enthusiasts and help hundreds of thousands of readers get more out of their hobby.
You should get in at least one knowledge of the following subject areas:
- Smart Home: You like to optimize your home, whether at home or in the living room. You are always looking for new smart solutions to make your everyday life more beautiful and productive – both with the help of tech products as well as software and app solutions.
- Home Office & Productivity: You like to give tips on how to set up and optimize a home office, including cool gadgets for everyday use. You like to try out new software solutions or tech gadgets to work more productively and make recommendations to others.
- Mobile & Smartphones: Your heart beats for smartphones and you will find your way around in the mobile phone jungle between iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Xiaomi and Co. You like to fiddle around with Android and iOS to discover cool features and get excited about new trends like foldable phones.
- Gadgets & Tech Trends: You are interested in all kinds of tech gadgets: drones, power banks, vacuum robots – the main thing is that they make your life easier, more convenient or more entertaining. You have your finger on the pulse and know the technology trends of tomorrow before they reach the mainstream.
As a tech editor, you not only know your field very well, you also follow new trends and know how to tell exciting, unique stories about tech products. You like to try new things and are deeply involved with products and features to help our readers discover new devices and optimize them for their everyday lives. But the most important thing is: You are fascinated by tech and highly motivated.
What you can look forward to:
- You research, write and edit tech articles for GameStar.de, from product tests and hands-on reports to news, guides and columns
- You can unfold creatively and thus contribute to a unique content mix
- You optimize articles for search engines (SEO) or Google Discover and enter them into our content management system in an attractive way
- You design new article and video formats together with an overarching team
- You analyze data with appropriate tools to find relevant topics and prepare articles suitable for the target group
- You come into contact with important manufacturers and PR contacts from the tech industry
- You will be part of a growing tech & hardware team with common goals that includes GameStar, GamePro and My-MMO
What we can look forward to:
- You are passionate about tech: products and technologies fascinate you
- You absorb everything in your field of interest and scour the internet for new information every day – whether on Reddit, social media, YouTube or tech sites
- Strong hands-on mentality: You like to test tech products, tweak settings or compare devices with others
- You are able to convey technical terms and complex topics in an understandable and entertaining way
- You know what interests the target group, also thanks to observations on social media and in communities
- You are willing to research thoroughly and can use your expertise to classify issues
- Excellent knowledge of Europe and good knowledge of English
- You like to think outside the box and always give your articles your own spin to set yourself apart from the competition
- You know how to report on tech topics in an informative and entertaining way
- You are open to new trends and developments and enjoy learning new things
- Basic knowledge of SEO, image editing and/or product photography is a plus but not a requirement
- Also an advantage, but not a requirement, is some experience in the field of video, eg you have already written texts for videos or stood in front of the camera yourself
