Nvidia's ambitious streaming service Geforce Now is experiencing another major setback: 2K Games has withdrawn its games from the catalog.
As Nvidia announces, all titles have been removed with immediate effect at the publisher's request. In order to the Borderlands series, Bioshock, Civilization and XCOM d isappear
The exodus continues
It is the third well-known publisher to withdraw its catalog: Activision-Blizzard and Bethesda had previously bounced. As a result, Geforce Now lost strong brands such as Skyrim, Fallout, Doom, Call of Duty, Overwatch or Diablo.
Nvidia emphasizes that 2K is working on a reintegration into the Geforce Now offering. Similar discussions are said to be underway with Bethesda and Activision-Blizzard. The publishers' withdrawals were apparently due to a misunderstanding in the contractual agreements with Geforce Now.
A powerful ally remains
Meanwhile, Geforce Now is backed by another major company: Epic CEO Tim Sweeney continues to promise full support for Nvidia's streaming service:
"Epic wholeheartedly supports Geforce Now with Fortnite and other games in the Epic Store that choose to participate (including exclusive titles) and we will gradually improve the integration."
Be Geforce Now the most publisher-friendly streaming platform, because it doesn't ask for a share of the sales. This is important to end the monopoly on 30 percent taxes. Sweeney has often criticized stores like Google Play or Steam for their 30 percent rule, and even promised an end to Epic exclusive deals if Steam gave developers more.

Steam, Epic, Amazon, PSN: This is how much the biggest game shops collect
Geforce Now was still at its announcement acted as a possible Stadia killer. The advantages are, among other things, that you don't have to buy games separately, but instead use them from other clients such as Steam.
GeForce Now can be used completely free of charge, the subscription offers unlimited playing time without installation and modern graphics options such as RTX – regardless of the performance of your own PC. All information about technology, price and the games catalog can be found in our large Geforce Now overview.
Why are so many publishers leaving GeForce Now?
The DRM owes the fact that so many games from Geforce Now are disappearing. Because when you buy a game on a service such as the Epic Games Launcher, you don't buy the game itself, but rather only one usage license
The titles of Blizzard are an example of this. The developer prohibits various uses in its terms of use. Streaming is also prohibited in this section:
"Cloud Computing: The use of the platform, including games, in connection with an unauthorized third-party» cloud computing «service or a software or a service that was designed to stream or transmit game content from a third-party server any device. "
Because of that Nvidia must first make agreements with the companieswhose games they want to offer through their own service. With some developers like Blizzard, however, they only had a deal for the closed beta phase of Geforce Now, which is why they now have their titles removed after the launch.
