A single production action will generate 20 bombs of the specified type, but you still need to complete multiple rounds of resource collection, production, and actual participation in activities to complete the challenge.

Your instinct may be to rush towards the fireflies, but in fact it is best not to do so! Sprinting will cause the fireflies to “disintegrate” and eventually disappear, but if you just walk towards them, they seem to be hardly threatened. Don’t dare, because they will eventually escape, but don’t run either.
Once you get close to the firefly, interact with it quickly to grab its glowing spine. This may not be great for the poor firefly, but it must be.
Or, hitting bushes in the firefly spawning area with a melee weapon at the right time can provide you with a glowing spine without the hassle of chasing (onscreen) fireflies.
