At the end of January it’s that time again and the new Genshin Impact patch is due. Version 4.4 is called “Dragon Splendor in the Spring Meadow” and takes us back to Liyue.
It’s time for the annual lantern ritual and Liyue beckons with the dragon theme and rewards for everyone. Aside from interwoven fate and breakable resin, you can also score a new clothing set for bookworm Xingqiu. You can even add any 4-star character from Liyue to your team during the event.
In addition, Liyue will be expanded to include a new area. The Chenyu Valley connects Liyue with Fontaine and creates a beautiful landscape whose majestic mountains are permanently shrouded in fog and clouds.
In order to depict the mountains and the fog as beautifully as possible, two new techniques come into play. In the future, the Global Far Fog feature will ensure that fog and clouds nestle better against hills and mountains. While thicker fog hangs in the valley, the peaks of the mountains are said to be surrounded by a light haze. Together with the Gradient Tint Rock technology, the landscape gets even more of the impression of a watercolor painting in the traditional shan shui drawing style. The previous pictures of the valley at least look impressive.
But it wouldn’t be a great Genshin patch if the lineup of characters wasn’t also expanded. New additions are Xianyun (5 stars), which many may already know from the previous storyline, and Gaming (4 stars).
Xianyun is the human form of the Lady of Standing Clouds and Silent Wind and has a Catalyst and Anemo powers. Her abilities include a mid-air dash, healing, and increasing the jump height and damage of falling attacks to other characters. (sounds like a good combo with Kazuha)
The field of Pyro characters is filled with gaming. He swings a greatsword and his butt as he incorporates movements from Wushou dance into battle.
Both Xianyun and Gaming will be featured in the first banner of Patch 4.4 along with the returning Nahida.
In the second banner you can wish on Xiao and Yae Miko.

Lantern ritual, Chenyu Valley, banners for new characters and new clothes for Ganyu and Shenhe will be available from January 31st in version 4.4 of Genshin Impact “Dragon Splendor in the Spring Meadow”.
In version 4.4 of Genshin Impact you can expect a new area, new characters and of course lots of new events.
