While Genshin Impact has already had considerable success on PC, PlayStation and Mobile, an actually planned switch version is still pending. Where did this actually go?
Genshin Impact has also been confirmed for the Nintendo Switch for some time, but there is still no sign of a release. Some fans are therefore already worried whether the successful title will even come to the Nintendo console, after all, according to the original planning, it should have been in 2020. So was this implementation really scrapped?
Developer miHoYo has now commented on the topic and the question of GoNintendo answered whether the free-to-play title is still coming to Switch or not. The makers did not make a very specific announcement regarding a release date, but they confirmed that a switch version of the game was still in the works.
For Switch fans, this is basically not bad news, after all, there was no longer any mention of the Switch in various published media about the game. So there was reason for concern, until the current statement from miHoYo.
Specifically, Xin Yang, the studio’s global PR executive, said, “The Switch version [von Genshin Impact] is a work in progress and we will release more information as we make further progress on this.”
It is still unclear where the switch variant is currently located. A forecast for the release period is therefore initially not possible. We will keep you up to date!
