Geralt of Rivia sequel comic miniseries announced

announced, comic, Geralt, Miniseries, Rivia, sequel

The excellent Blood and Wine expansion brought a perfect ending to Geralt of Rivia, but a new story set in the events of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is about to be launched in comic form.

The surprising news, shared by Newsarama (thanks to GamesRadar), comes shortly after CD Projekt Red confirmed that the next Witcher game will enter full production this year.

The comic miniseries from Dark Horse Comics will be written by Bartosz Sztybor (The Witcher: Wild Things) and drawn by Corrado Mastantuono. In addition to these two big names, the series is also colored by Matteo Vattani and written by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou.

So what is Geralt doing now that he seems to have retired with Yennefer (or Triss, if you choose that non-canonical path)? The official plot synopsis provided by Dark Horse is as follows:

“For a witcher, a simple life is hard to come by, and even harder to give up. When Geralt falls in love with a slower pace of life – good wine and good company – the daily life of a witcher can easily be overshadowed. With With Yennefer by his side, one might hope that Geralt can truly enjoy a taste of the good life. But the stain on history runs deep, and every drop of blood and wine attracts those who want more.

A variant cover for The Witcher: Corvo Raven #1, which will be released on May 8, teases a vampire-like enemy or something similar, which makes sense considering the main plot of Blood and Wine.

Mind you, this is more of a coda for the character, a fun adventure that probably won’t change his retirement plans. That said, we wouldn’t be surprised if he appears again in CDPR’s upcoming fantasy action-adventure RPG, even if it’s just a neat little cameo.
