Sony announced the director’s cut version of “The Ghost of Tsushima”, which will be released next month.
This Director’s Cut Version of Oni Tsushima A new island will be provided for players on the latest console, which will contain new updates and PS5 specific enhancements.
Director’s Cut was released on PS5 and PS4 consoles on August 20, with the original game and all additional content sold to date, as well as the neighboring Iki Island.
In the new story on this island, Jin investigates rumors about the existence of the Mongols. But soon, he found himself “involved in events closely related to the individual”, which would force him to “relive some traumatic moments in the past.”
In addition to new stories and new characters, the new island also has new exploration environments, new armors for Jin and his horses, new mini-games, new enemy types, and more.
PlayStation 5 players will be able to use some additional new features, such as the cutscenes in “Soul of Tsushima”, and Iki Island will now provide lip sync for Japanese dubbing.
Both “Soul of Tsushima: Legend” and the new Iki Island expansion pack will take advantage of the tactile feedback and adaptive triggers in Director’s Cut. 3D audio on PS5 will also be enhanced, as well as improved loading time, 4K resoluti on options and a frame rate targeted at 60 FPS.
If you already own “Soul of Tsushima” on PS4, you can transfer your save to PS5. For new players, the new Iki Island content will be provided starting from Act 2.
With the exception of Director’s Cut, anyone who already owns the game can download a patch that contains many new updates guided by feedback provided by players.
All players will receive a patch that contains some new accessibility options for the alternate controller layout, the option to enable target locking in battle, and the option to hide the quiver during the game.
For legendary players, there will be some new updates, including a brand new mode, which will be introduced in detail in the coming weeks.
Director’s Cut is priced at $69.99 on PS5 and $59.99 on PS4.
