Game news Ghost Recon: does the ending of Breakpoint herald the arrival of a new episode? Several clues
Just a few hours ago, Ubisoft announced that after three years of good and faithful service, Ghost Recon Breakpoint will no longer receive an update. It seems that this unfortunate news hides another, much more satisfying one.
A new adventure for the Ghosts?
In any case, since a few days the Ghost Recon saga does not stop talking about it. After the initial mixed returns of Ghost Recon Frontline, the Ghost Recon-sauced battle royale, the cessation of content supplementation for Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and the announcement on the game’s NFTs, the video game series born in 2001 returns to the frontline stage once again.
Selon Kotaku, Ubisoft Paris is reportedly working on a brand new Ghost Recon opus. this is not the famous Ghost Recon Frontline, but a brand new production.
AAA in preparation?
This brand new opus would currently be codenamed OVER; a code name that, by the way, was already visible on NVIDIA’s website last year. So this famous OVER would have started its development more than a year ago and would be a triple A,
Better, even if this project is still very mysterious, it could be that the title already has a release window. In other words, it would be planned to release it in fiscal year 2023, which spans the period from April 2023 to March 2024. In other words, you have to be patient.
The fate of Ghost Recon Frontline at stake?
As we said at the beginning of the article, Ghost Recon Frontline was not received particularly well when it was announced and initial feedback has been mixed, to say the least. In fact, on Jan. 31, insider Tom Henderson, whose reputation is second to none, reported that this Ghost Recon Frontline was far too close to Call of Duty: Warzone.
In addition, still according to Kotaku, After so many negative reactions, the Ghost Recon Frontline project might not be released any time soon. Ubisoft would have actually decided to back down. The FPS would even be reset. So OVER could be released before Ghost Recon Frontline.
Of course, all of this information should be taken with a pinch of salt, as Ubisoft hasn’t officially announced anything.
