Last night’s Nintendo Direct was packed from start to finish with exciting titles and, most notably, tons of ports and remasters. One title I didn’t notice due to a trip to the kitchen was the brilliant Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, which is coming to Nintendo Switch in HD this summer.
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is a supernatural adventure game that first launched in 2012 on the Nintendo DS. In fact, it’s one of the best Nintendo DS games ever made, and I’m personally ecstatic that I’m finally going to be able to relive Sissel’s spooky endeavor in HD.
In Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, you play as Sissel, a spirit who wakes up with no memory of her past. After learning some neat tricks, Sissel learns that he can manipulate objects around him and play with time; using what he knows, Sissel can actually travel back in time to save people’s lives.
What makes it better? Later in the game, you can actually play as a ghost dog. I won’t share too much, as this is one of the best fun, charming, yet dark games to experience for yourself.
If you’re not quite convinced yet, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective was actually written by Ace Attorney creator Shu Takumi. So, you can be pretty sure the narrative unfolding here is entertaining and refreshing. Combine that with new HD visuals and Ghost Stunt: Phantom Detective is a must-have for your Nintendo Switch.
As for when the game will launch on the Nintendo Switch, we’re not sure yet, with Nintendo saying it’ll be available “this summer.”
