After the first-person shooter Splitgate 2 was unveiled a few weeks ago, developer 1047 Games is serving up gameplay for the first time with a new trailer and introducing the new factions. Like the first part, the game relies on a combination of portals and fast gameplay. The new factions give you unique abilities that add additional depth to the game. The Aeros are lightning fast and can, for example, teleport behind their enemies. The Meridians can heal their team members and erect shields to protect them from enemy attacks. The Sabrasks are much more cumbersome than the other factions, but they have better defense and can use powerful grenades. Splitgate 2 will be released as a free-to-play game for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in 2025. A companion app for smartphones is also planned, which will provide lore tidbits and unlockable in-game items.
