The massive open world of Elden Ring is so vast and full of hidden secrets that you inevitably forge a tight bond with your Stormwind mount. Now resourceful players have found a method with which the summonable four-legged friend can teach to fly.
The glitch gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “on horseback” and turns Stormwind into a true Pegasus. The little horned horse might not like how this transformation takes place, because in the first step it has to give up its life.
So far, two places in the game have been identified where the trick can be used. The streamer EZScape shows you the process in this short clip:

As you can already see from the video title, the speedrunning community in particular should keep a close eye on the flying horse.
This recently reduced the fastest playthrough time for Elden Ring to half an hour and, as is well known, never tires of trying to undercut each other:
world record
Beat the Elden Ring in about 30 minutes
But even for players who are not chasing records, it could be worth a try. Even if you don’t want to use it to jump over unwelcome opponents, such a horse-powered plane still offers one unusual and sometimes very exciting perspective of the intermediate country.
Also, the secret star of games like Elden Ring is the map anyway, and if you can’t wait to get to a certain location on it, why not fly over there and take a look around!
It’s the same with flying
If you want to go to dizzy heights yourself, you can try it out in just a few steps. But make no mistake: it’s trickier than it looks!
- Go to Sanctuary of the beasts or house volcano.
- Find one of the cliffs shown in the video.
- Ride so close to the edge that after you jump, Stormwind comes into contact with the invisible game-over plane, which would also crash-death your character.
- Attempt to summon your steed again and confirm the use of a charge of Crimson Tears.
- For it to actually appear, summon it a second time and enjoy flying!
At an even newer one Alternative method you are not tied to these two places and can theoretically perform the glitch on any sharp edge with a deadly abyss next to it. It works like this:
- Jump off your horse and immediately end the game while you’re still in the air. It should now be next to you when you return.
- Stand on a deadly cliff and throw yourself down. Complete the game before you die.
- If everything worked out, after loading you stand on the edge of the cliff and Stormwind falls down.
- Proceed as before and call your now airworthy steed twice.

Still without a horse? This is how you get the mount
If you don’t have that many hours in your account, you might still be running through the vastness of the intermediate country on foot. It’s very easy to get hold of the little horse: after the tutorial, you only have to do three things above ground places of grace
For example, the Storm Gate ruins are one of the first places you go after you’ve released the game into the open world, but the order doesn’t really matter. If you rest on the third day, you will get a visit from Melinawhich not only allows you to level up, but also the Spectral Horse Whistle gifts that you can use to summon Stormwind.
Put them on a shortcut and enjoy your new mobility! Fortunately, you also land immediately when you call your companion and it also has a practical double jump. Weapons can also be removed from the horse’s back use.
