There are really good ideas, and there are also less good ideas that have very unfortunate consequences. What the latest Goat Simulator 3 commercial belongs to is not yet entirely clear. But apparently someone at Coffee Stain Studios was convinced it would be smart to use footage from a major GTA 6 leak for a commercial. You can read how the story continues here.
Hardly published, already gone
The short video was published as an advertisement on YouTube, Twitter and other platforms and introduced the NPC Shaun. The clip’s trademark Goat Simulator wacky humor wasn’t a cause for excitement, of course, but Shaun was also shown against the backdrop of footage from a massive GTA leak that became public in September. Editor-in-Chief Heiko explains our attitude to such leaks here.

This probably prompted the legal department of GTA publisher Take Two to take action. Within a few hours, the commercial for the goat simulation could no longer be found. Take Two was comfortable filed a copyright complaint against the video and successfully got it taken offline.
Incidentally, the consequences of the leak are worse for the 17-year-old hacker, who is allegedly responsible for the publication of image and video material. He was arrested in September and put on trial:

Misjudgement or publicity stunt?
Now, of course, the question arises: Was it really so bad to assess the situation at Coffee Stain Studios and were they not aware of the possible consequences of the commercial? Or was the whole action planned and you hoped to be able to advertise Goat Simulator 3 even better with the anger about the video? Of course, this is difficult to judge from the outside, but both would probably be possible.
What is Goat Simulator 3?
Contrary to what the name might suggest, Goat Simulator 3 is only the second title in the series. Unsurprisingly, you control a goat that causes chaos and destruction on its way through a city. The game is characterized by a sandbox character and its wacky humor, which you can also admire in the trailer:

But is that any good? The Goat Simulator is characterized less by playful depth and much more by the possibility to do mischief and be amused by the gags of the developers. However, that’s exactly what our author Sascha did, which is why he tested the game for us. Whether you might like Goat Simulator 3 and what you can do here, you read in his test.
