God of War: Game Ready driver with further optimizations

Driver, game, God, optimizations, ready, War

Just in time for the launch of the PC version of God of War, NVIDIA has released a new Game Ready driver that pimps the game with further optimizations.

GeForce RTX players already benefit from exclusive NVIDIA DLSS and NVIDIA Reflex support on the PC version of God of War. Today’s Game Ready driver also adds support for NVIDIA DLDSR, Enhanced Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) with AI, and several new Freestyle filters that bring a graphics update to popular classic games.

DLSS provides a performance increase of up to 45 percent at 4K resolution thanks to AI rendering technology, which increases the frame rate without visibly affecting graphics quality. Thanks to NVIDIA Reflex, system latency can be reduced by up to 22% on GeForce 900 series GPUs and newer models, allowing for significantly more responsive gameplay, more precise dodges and combos.

Thanks to DLDSR, gamers now have the option to use excess GPU cycles to increase fidelity. DLDSR is mostly beneficial for gamers with 1080p or 1440p monitors as it can improve graphics with less noticeable performance penalty.

DLDSR improves DSR by employing a tensor core-accelerated AI network designed to recognize lines and edges to distinguish between aliasing and texture detail. Because of the improved fidelity of this AI-based approach, DLDSR is able to improve image quality while using fewer pixels for rendering than non-DL supersampling.

The Game Ready driver also features three new advanced freestyle filters – SSRTGI, SSAO, and Dynamic DOF – which can be activated by pressing Alt+F3 during gameplay when the GeForce Experience in-game overlay is enabled in the app’s settings menu is.

  • SSRTGI (Screen Space Ray Traced Global Illumination), also known as “Ray Tracing ReShade Filter”, enhances lighting and shadows, creating a sense of greater depth and realism.
  • SSAO (Screen Space Ambient Occlusion) Improves the appearance of shadows near the intersections of 3D objects, especially in dimly lit environments or indoors.
  • Dynamic DOF (Depth of Field) applies a bokeh-like blur based on the proximity of objects in the scene, giving games an immersive cinematic feel.

The new driver can be downloaded now from the NVIDIA website or via the GeForce Experience app.
