This time Sony is not at all satisfied with the leak of its game God of War Ragnarok before the release and addresses the topic directly.
You have to imagine: you have been developing a game for several years and you are trying to get the best out of yourself so that everything is perfect on the day of release, your plan seems firmly established. But your creation leaks 10 days ahead of schedule and unscrupulous people spoil your entire community. That’s pretty much what’s happening with God of War Ragnarok.
Sony sees red for God of War Ragnarok
Sony Santa Monica Creative Director Cory Barlog took to Twitter to express his frustration at the rather complicated and dire situation facing the community regarding God of War Ragnarok. Here is the said message:
You know, now I really see the benefit of only having a physical installer.
A retailer selling God of War Ragnarok almost TWO WEEKS ahead of its release… It’s so disappointing….
Sorry everyone, you have to avoid spoilers if you want to play the new game, it’s completely stupid to have to do that.
That’s not what we wanted for SMS at all.
To be clear, I expressed my frustration in the first tweet. I am not advocating that at all. This is not the future I want as a gamer or developer
.I’m just beyond frustrated. I feel bad for the team.
This whole ordeal is incredibly distressing for all of us.
We need a break for our mental health.
But it’s not the only one complaining about the God of War Ragnarok situation since then MattSophosThe game’s narrative director, whose heart must be touched by this news, also commented on Twitter:
Stay away from social media, Reddit, YouTube, etc. unless you’re really sure you can cut hashtags and block people.
I’m very sorry if anyone saw our game spoiled in any way. We’ve really tried to keep things fresh and surprising for you.
On our side, the only advice we can give you if you are interested in the game is to block Twitter as much as possible, which is a nest of spoilers, regardless of your strength of will. For the record, God of War Ragnarok is slated for November 9th, 2022 on PS4 and PS5. There’s still quite a bit of time to spoiler the script, that would be a shame.
