Sony announces a major sales milestone god of war ragnarok, and general first-party proprietary content. The Sony Santa Monica game sold 5.1 million copies in just five days.
The numbers track copies sold to consumers on PS4 and PS5. This makes Ragnarok the fastest-selling first-party game in PlayStation history.
Considering the game is only available on two platforms, selling more than 5 million copies in a week is certainly a lot. For a game released on two generations of consoles, the chances are high that it will continue to sell, especially if many people who already own a PS4 are waiting to play it on the PS5.
The more readily available PS5 consoles are, the more copies of Ragnarok will be picked up along with them. If nothing else, it will serve as a nice showcase for the new console.

It’ll be interesting to see how many copies it ends up selling on PlayStation before it inevitably hits PC for two years or so. God of War 2018 was a huge hit on PC, and there’s no indication that the same won’t be the case for Ragnarok.
