“On the first-party software side, we plan to release a new hit franchise, Ragnarok, on November 9,” the company said.

“The previous God of War game, released in 2018, was one of the largest ever released exclusively for PlayStation, with 23 million cumulative units sold to date. We expect this new game to perform similarly.”

Speaking of God of Ragnarok, Sony released a commercial for the film starring John Travolta, Ben Stiller, LeBron James and their children. Check it out above.

The ninth installment in the series takes place three years after its 2018 release and finds Kratos and his son Atreus facing a series of events that lead to the end of the day and the death of some Norse gods.

It discovers Fimbulwinter, the end of a great winter that spanned three summers, thus beginning the prophesied Ragnarok. In the game, Kratos and Atreus will travel across nine realms, trying to find a way to prevent events from happening, while also trying to figure out the answer behind Atreus’ identity as Loki.

It will be released on PS4 and PS5 next week.
