GoldenEye 007 Player Shows You How To Remap Your Switch Controls To Play Like A Modern FPS

Switch Online users seem to enjoy playing Goldeneye 007 on their consoles, but some people have had some trouble with the controls.

Apparently, the controls are auto-configured based on how the game was originally released.

Bond is back…in all his N64 glory! Huuzah.

If you’ve played it on the N64 before, the controls do take a little getting used to, but we got used to it pretty quickly. Remember reverse aiming? Some of us still use it, and this game might be why.

However, first-person shooters have come a long way since 1997, and for those accustomed to modern FPS controls, GoldenEye 007 is just right for them–but there’s a fix.

There are a couple of options to make the game’s controls feel more modern. Reddit user posted an option Sports 77 Who suggested 1.2 Solitaire.Another option comes from reddit user but Whoever suggested 2.3 Domino even created a video tutorial for it.

The only caveat with the mapping used with 1.2 Solitaire is that you can only walk in eight directions, since the joystick only emulates the C button. 2.3 Dominoes works similar to 1.2, but the game thinks you’re using the two sticks instead of the C button, which lets you move completely.

Both options are linked above, so we recommend you try both and see which you like better, but it’s nice to see these two doing God’s work for us.

GoldenEye 007 launched yesterday (January 27) on Xbox Game Pass and Switch Online.
