Good news for all you Concord players out there, official merchandise is now on sale or available for pre-order. Over on the US version of the PlayStation Gear Store, you can pick up a Concord mug, t-shirt, hoodie, or beanie to show your love for Sony’s most popular live service release. If they’re anything like the game, they’ll be snapped up, so grab yours soon.
As we all know, Concord is Interesting This is one of several recent game releases. The hero shooter was shut down about two weeks after its release. On its release day, it attracted only a few hundred players on Steam, and by the time it was shut down, those numbers had dropped to below three digits. But nothing says high fashion like an ironic outfit.

Believe it or not, some people would probably love to own some of these. Not only are there groups of game enthusiasts who might get a good chuckle out of owning one of these things, given its association with one of gaming’s biggest budget flops, but about 2,000 people have signed a Morbius-style petition calling for the game to be re-released. Did they sign it for laughs? Absolutely. But if they’re having fun with it, then may be selling some Concord merchandise would make them just as happy?
Why are these things on sale or pre-order? Because for any release (video game, movie, or otherwise), the company can’t wait until the game is out to start designing and making mug costumes. These things have to be made in advance. Considering the amount of money invested in Concord, it’s clear that Sony wants this game to be a hit. So of course Concord will prepare merchandise before release, and even during its short lifespan. Right now, the first batch of merchandise is sitting in a warehouse waiting to be ordered. Whether it stays in the warehouse, gets thrown in the trash, or finds a loving home is up to you and game fans like you.

So, will you be buying some Concord merchandise? Unfortunately, as of the time of writing, the UK version of the PlayStation Gear Store doesn’t seem to have any of this merchandise, so it’s likely that only red-white-and-blue-blooded Americans will be able to snap up all of this merchandise for Concord enthusiasts in the UK to purchase. One can’t help but wonder if we’ll see a similar resale market emerge, as we did with boxed copies after Concord closed.
