Following the success of Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Netflix and CD Projekt revealed at Nextflix’s Geeked Week event that another Cyberpunk 2077 animated project is coming soon.
It’s still unclear what the show will be about, but we do know the show’s marketing tagline is “Return to Night City,” so at least you know it’ll take place in a familiar locale and there’s likely to be at least one snazzy neon sign.

This brief trailer announced it, like a hacked Geeked radio show – you know, because it’s Cyberpunk – with a brief series of slides flashing up with the Netflix, CD Projekt and Cyberpunk logos, interspersed with the line I just mentioned about Night City.
“From Netflix Animation, Cyberpunk and CD Projekt Red. Stay tuned,” reads an equally vague tweet. So there’s no indication that the series will be related or similar to the popular Cyberpunk Edgerunners in any way, but the story of the series doesn’t necessarily seem designed for a follow-up sequel. That being said, CD Projekt hasn’t completely ruled out the possibility, and there would definitely be people who would be interested in it.

In fact, the studio has been so secretive about the whole thing that co-CEO Micha? Nowakowski said during CD Projekt’s latest financial call last month: “We definitely plan to do more work on the animation side of Cyberpunk, and I hope that’s enough of an answer.”
Browsing Reddit, many fans seem to think they might prefer something fresh, since Edgerunners’ seasons so far have struggled to top, or meet the high expectations it’s set. “I’d take anything. An early corporate war story would be great,” one fan wrote. “Heck, if it was about Delamain’s daily life, I’d even watch it.”
