Luckily, files deleted from Google Drive are usually easy to recover. Google gives you 30 days before these are finally removed from the built-in recycle bin. Follow the guide below to learn how to recover the deleted files.
Since Google Drive only keeps deleted files in cloud recycle bin for 30 days, the following Windows 10 recovery method might be the only way to get back the data that has already passed this period.
Because Google has no access to the recycle bin there and deleted files remain there longer. The same applies the other way around: files deleted under Windows 10 by emptying the recycle bin may still be found in the Google Drive online recycle bin.

Open File Explorer and click on “Trash” on the left.

Then you select the files to be restored, right-click on them and select “Restore”. The files automatically migrate to the corresponding Google Drive folder on the PC and in the cloud.
Instead of Google Drive, Windows 10 offers an alternative with Microsoft’s cloud file storage OneDrive. This offers a similar level of convenience, for example for sharing files directly via a link on the PC.
