Lower resolution to avoid saturating the lines
As a point, due to the increase in demand for internet traffic that is taking place these days due to confinement and work from home, so as not to saturate the lines, Google announces that it will lower the quality of the broadcasting of games maximum 4K supported, up to 1080p, although it maintains the frame rate at 60 fps. "To reduce the burden on Internet use, we are working on a temporary feature that would change the default screen resolution from 4K to 1080p." Until now, by default in the app it came to play in 4K, but temporarily in the settings it will be configured to play at 1080p. This does not mean that it is not possible to play in 4K, single you have to change the resolution again from the app.
This measure should not be a great setback for most users who want to enjoy this Stadia Pro test in the coming days, since tends to be the most widely used resolution on most PC monitors and laptops. The biggest difference will be when playing on a larger, more common 4K resolution TV to play in the living room.
Finally, Google recalls that "like many people around the world, our support team has been significantly affected by this crisis and our customer service is not working normally", so if any problem arises During these days, it may take a while for the incident team to respond. "Have fun and take care of yourself, we can't wait to play with you in Stadia."
