Google has been working on hardware for years, with particular emphasis on telephony… and I have to admit that the American giant is doing quite well. The Pixel 7a in particular is a very good product that costs very little.

Google has been offering its Pixel smartphones for a few years now, but it took me a while to really take it seriously. Not that I didn’t have faith in the brand – I mean, it’s one of the leaders in high-tech, after all – but the feedback from Windows Phone, for example, had made me pretty dismissive of the possibility of a manufacturer that didn’t Smartphones specialize in… making a really good smartphone.
It’s fair to assume that Google has doubled down on its efforts to offer great products over the years, so much so that I myself fell for the Pixel 7 range last year after years of working at more traditional manufacturers. And the least we can say is that I’m not the least bit disappointed.

The Google Pixel 7a, an excellent smartphone
Google is still the company behind Android and of course I expected a lot from this Google Pixel 7a: I wasn’t disappointed because, similar to Apple, Google has integrated many small exclusive features into its phone. This applies to transcription, security features, automation almost everywhere or even AI that can be used to directly optimize photos. Overall, from an operating system perspective, the experience is really very smooth and feels really good.
In terms of features, the Pixel 7a features the Tensor G2, a chip manufactured directly by Google and also identical to the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. The smartphone also has a 6.1-inch 90 Hz OLED screen: for beginners it is still very nice to offer this technical quality. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a smartphone with an excellent price-performance ratio!
