Gotham Knights showed up at Gamescom’s opening night scene and gave us the most unusual news of the night.
Originally expected to release on October 25, developer WB Games Montréal has made slight changes to the game’s release date. No, it wasn’t delayed; in fact, it was released four days earlier. Gotham Knights will be available on October 21stwhich is certainly good news for everyone looking forward to a multiplayer DC game.
That’s not all about Gotham Knights news, though. We also saw a villain trailer showing the likes of Clayface and Harley Quinn joining the roster, along with the previously announced Court of Owls, Mr Freeze and more.
Throughout Gotham Knights, you’ll have the chance to play as Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, and Red Hood as you try to protect Gotham City from these notorious villains following the death of Bruce Wayne. While the villain trailer gives us an idea of who we might get to see, there will no doubt be more familiar faces.
Plus, it looks like Renee Montoya will help Batman’s antagonists against these villains. In a description of the villain’s trailer on YouTube, it reads: “A storm is coming, and Renee Montoya knows she can’t trust the GCPD to fight it. She must ally with our knights before it’s too late. Renee Montoya – GCPD officer and vigilante, also known as The Question – was originally created for Batman: The Animated Series and has since appeared in many comics.
The significance of Renee Montoya’s role in Gotham Knights is unclear, but it should be fascinating for any DC fan to see how she fits into the game.
Gotham Knights is out now on October 21st, 2022 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
That’s a far cry from all the gameplay the Gamescom opening night scene has to offer. We saw Goat Simulator 3 in all its chaotic glory, and even more from the gory cosmic horror, Protocol of Callisto. Finally, we got to know some Sonic Frontiers games too!
