THQ Nordic releases new trailer gothic remake This takes you into the old mine, a place where a picnic would be bad.
In development with Alkimia Interactive, the team’s focus and goal is to create a high-quality RPG remake that will be released on PC and next-gen consoles.
In December 2019, THQ Nordic released a playable gothic remake prototype, seeking public comment on a possible modern remake of the classic RPG. The playable trailer is in the Steam library of everyone who owns the Piranha Bytes game.
Gothic is a fantasy-themed action RPG originally developed by Piranha Bytes. Set in a medieval world where humans and orcs are fighting, things aren’t going well for the humans. Winning the war requires more powerful weapons, so the king uses prisoner workers in his mining colony to extract magic ore from mines to create powerful weapons.
But things went so well. The magic dome erected to prevent criminals from escaping the mining area has spiraled out of control and covered the entire valley. This barrier also trapped the magician in charge of the dome and gave criminals a chance to take control of the colony.
The result was three distinct criminal factions, and the magicians were divided into two groups.
You, an unnamed prisoner, will join one of the three mining factions and, due to certain circumstances in the game, end up on a mission to defeat a demon called the Sleeper, summoned by the orcs. You will also work towards the ultimate goal of freeing the prisoners of the colony.
A release window for Gothic Remake is not provided.
