Grace and Frankie season 7: the start date of the final episodes of the Netflix series has been set

Grace & Frankie season 7 is the finale of the Netflix series. A start date for the final episodes has now been set. We’ll tell you all the information about the big series finale.

With the seventh season, the popular series “Grace and Frankie” ends on Netflix. Season 7 is scheduled to consist of a total of 16 episodes, bringing the total number of episodes to 94 since it premiered in 2015. This makes the series, starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, the longest-running series on the streaming service, even overtaking the Netflix original Orange is the New Black.

It’s exciting and somehow fitting that our show about the challenges, beauty and dignity of aging will be the oldest show on Netflix.

Four episodes of Season 7 have already been released on August 13, 2021 to give fans a taste of the final season. Since the shooting has been significantly postponed due to the corona pandemic, the remaining episodes will now be shown to be released on April 29, 2022.

“Grace and Frankie” Season 7: Storyline

Series creator Kauffman told Variety magazine that season 7 will show new sides of Grace, Frankie, Sol and Robert. In an interview with Good Housekeeping magazine, she said of the final season:

You know, I hope the show inspires people to realize that just because one phase of their life ends doesn’t mean another doesn’t begin – and it can be better than the previous phases. I hope that people will realize that they are alive and sexual and that with a good friend by your side you can achieve anything.

In the first four episodes, released in 2021, we already learn that Nick has been released from prison and is now serving his sentence under house arrest. Grace is not at all enthusiastic about it, she liked the “long-distance relationship” better than living with Nick.

Bud wants a rabbi to perform his circumcision at his home. Sol and Robert have been robbed and Coyote plans to sell his Sacagawa coin so he can buy a house of his own.

“Grace and Frankie” Season 7: Production

According to media reports, the production of season 7 started right after the release of season 6, i.e. in January 2020. As in previous seasons, all new episodes were shot in Los Angeles. Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris return as showrunners to handle ongoing production duties.

In March 2020, production, along with other Netflix productions such as “Matryoshka”, was discontinued due to the corona pandemic. An update was only given in mid-August 2021, filming has resumed and 4 episodes have already been released to make the waiting time more bearable for fans. Filming has now ended.
