What is the Gran Turismo 7 release date?

After a long wait, Sony finally decided to sort the situation out: Gran Turismo 7 will be released on March 4th, 2022. An arrival that is rapidly approaching, about five years after Gran Turismo Sport and about eight years after Gran Turismo 6. Suffice it to say that the community’s expectations for this new game are particularly palpable, including the ambition to return to the basics.

Which consoles will Gran Turismo 7 be released on?

Contrary to what we often think Gran Turismo 7 won’t be exclusive to PlayStation 5: it’s planned for PS5, yes, but also for PS4. This multiplatform version is pretty understandable, Sony certainly wants to reach the broadest audience by relying on the huge fleet of PlayStation 4s already installed.

Polyphony Digital is a studio owned by Sony, the game will therefore not be published anywhere other than on the consoles of the Japanese manufacturer… Unless there is a future surprise on PC, as was the case with God of War or Uncharted?

How many cars will there be in Gran Turismo 7?

The developers have confirmed that at the launch of Gran Turismo 7, 420 cars will be available. That is significantly less than before, because in Gran Turismo 6 there were, to name just one, 1,200 cars. However, this restriction is well thought out and proves to be much more relevant than the dizzying numbers of the old games: From now on there will be no more “premium” models and “standard” models, but only cars with the equivalent end, with great attention to detail and sophisticated.

Many brands will be present, the most prestigious (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti) to standard manufacturers (Renault, BMW, Mazda and more) by taxidermists or racing cars. As always, the saga will amaze us here with cars from all walks of life, both in city cars and in Formula 1, including sedans, 4x4s or even concept cars, the latter being provided by the famous GT Vision.

Obviously, the “cast” will expand as the updates progress.

Will we be able to customize the cars in Gran Turismo 7?

We can actually customize all of our cars in Gran Turismo 7, down to the last detail! It was about a mechanism that fell back a lot in the sports episode, but will make a big comeback here: First of all, we can approach traditional mechanical adjustments (length of the gears, ABS, etc.) and, above all, operate your car with it with great care.

In order to do this, it will be possible to take it to the garage and purchase myriad different parts (there will be the greatest number of objects in the history of the series), from the exhausts to the brakes, including the tires, the shafts and even the body itself. The various, partly officially licensed items are divided into five categories: Sports , Clubsport, Semi-Race, Race and Extreme. As in the old games, it will be possible to set up your car very precisely and completely transform it from the inside, and it is even very advisable to move forward.

Customizing the cars in Gran Turismo 7 will also be cosmetic. We can also apply paints and stickers as well as rims or fins in the garage without modeling the parts like a Need For Speed. The interesting little extra is being able to offer the community its own “paint job”, i.e. its auto skin that others can download (and vice versa).

How many tracks will there be in Gran Turismo 7?

Polyphony Digital has admitted that there are more than 90 tours in more than 40 different countries on launch day. This also includes real routes that were meticulously reproduced thanks to a team rendering on site with a laser capture system, such as the Laguna Seca, Le Mans or the Nürburgring; but also a ton of new tracks, some of which are well known to the players of the saga, like the Deep Forest Raceway. Several variants will be available and many weather effects will be announced that will inevitably affect driving in the full race.

How long will Gran Turismo 7 last?

Hard to say right now, but it seems certain that Gran Turismo 7 will last … a very, very long time. Exactly here, The aim of the developers is to get back to basics with a huge career mode that builds on the basics of the first few episodes. We will therefore find championships of increasing difficulty, dozens and dozen of specific events, a currency system (here “credits”) to buy cars – and sell them – and all of this has made Gran Turismo its great reputation.

What’s new in Gran Turismo 7?

Gran Turismo 7 promises a completely accepted homecoming, but fortunately offers some very interesting innovations: First of all, graphical additions, since the title will obviously be based on a technology that has been adapted to today’s taste.Even more detailed 3D models and a solid update for all vehicles with many newer and unprecedented automobiles.

Especially on the PS5, the title will show its excellent performance 4K and a frame rate of sixty frames per second. Ray tracing, a very popular technology that allows the management of ultra-realistic light and its reflections, will not be available in the game, only in Shapes mode (i.e. Photo mode). Finally, Gran Turismo 7 is supported by several new gameplay features by taking full advantage of DualSense, the famous controller of the PS5: the haptic vibrations make it possible to faithfully reproduce the type of road the player is on, or if he is partially driving on a curb, for example; The adaptive triggers are promised to be very immersive by playing with braking forces, acceleration and possible predetermined breaking points.

Can we play Gran Turismo 7 with a steering wheel?

We can of course play Gran Turismo 7 with a compatible steering wheel, whether on PS5 or PS4, or with the controller. In this regard, the first official steering wheel fully developed for Gran Turismo 7 has recently been formalized: it is the Direct Drive Pro, which is produced by the manufacturer Fanatec in direct collaboration with Polyphony Digital.
