It wasn’t until May that a supposed insider said that the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 could be years away. The report from that time is now given significantly more emphasis, because real industry experts and very well-informed insiders are now jumping on the bandwagon.
GTA 5 has been on the market for almost eight years now, but is still proving to be an absolute blockbuster – also thanks to the numerous implementations for newer platforms. Nevertheless, fans of the action franchise from Rockstar are of course waiting for the sequel GTA 6. These must be really strong, because it will probably be many years away.
There was already such a report in May, which spoke of a release probably not until 2025. If you didn’t really know how to classify it back then, things are unfortunately different today. Several, usually very well-informed, industry experts jump on this bandwagon.
The former reporters now jumped at the side of reporter Andy Robinson and Jason Schreier, one of the most famous leakers of game information. After Tom Henderson had previously posted a video in which he spoke of a release in either 2024 or 2025, Schreier said: “Everything Tom Henderson said about the game is what I heard.”
Andy Robinson, on the other hand, says: “That also agrees with what VGC has heard from its own sources about the next GTA game.” In short: Unfortunately, there really seems to be something to this speculation and we may have to wait four years until 2025 before GTA 6 will be available.
The new statements merely contradict reports on publisher Take-Two’s marketing budget, which suggested a possible launch of the game in 2023. However, this business plan dates from a time before the Covid 19 pandemic, so that there could have been corresponding delays for known reasons.
Rumor has it that GTA 6 will take you back to Vice City, where a more modern, Miami-inspired area awaits you. We will keep you up to date on further developments.
