Now that the new edition of GTA: San Andreas has been confirmed as part of GTA: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition, a virtual reality version of the classic has now been announced.
Fans of the older, nostalgic GTA titles still have reason to be happy, because Rockstar Games has now made another announcement after Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition. The PS2 classic GTA: San Andreas will therefore also be reissued in other ways.
For example, Facebook and Rockstar announced a VR version of the game as part of Connect 2021. You can dive into the action-packed virtual world via the Oculus Quest 2. A release date for this new version of the classic was not given at first, but it was emphasized that this would have been “in the works for many years”.
Accordingly, there should be more details in the near future. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg describes the VR version of GTA: San Andreas as “a completely new way to experience this iconic open game world in virtual reality”.
The GTA title is not the first video game classic to be ported to the Oculus Quest 2. For example, Capcom and Armature Studio brought out such a VR version of Resident Evil 4.
