Rockstar makes sense to collect millions of dollars
Rockstar started huge fundraising campaigns in GTA 5 Online and Red Dead Online. Developers need your help. Your in-game purchase percentage will be a good reason to raise millions of dollars if everyone helps.
Until the end of May, Rockstar will organize a grand fundraising event in order to play a good role in the GTA 5 online version and Red Dead Online. Rockstar donated 5% of its game purchase revenue to GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 online models to local associations and companies struggling with the consequences of the corona virus.
In an official Twitter statement, Rockstar revealed that proceeds should be donated directly and distributed to aid organizations. Fundraising will continue until the end of May.
At the beginning, five percent didn't sound like much, but it could raise more than a million dollars. If based on two financial reports from February 2020 [Tweaktown report from the US financial website], this ambitious goal is not so far away.
Gains from GTA and Red Dead Online
Take-Two announced that publishers made $ 341.3 million in game purchase revenue in three months. It's unclear how much GTA 5 Online and Red Dead Online have in them, but they shouldn't be too small.
Even if the two games add up to only one-tenth of the amount [about $ 34 million], 5% of that amount is still $ 1.7 million. If you continue to use this theoretical calculation method, you will have to deduct one-third from those 1.7 million, because the fundraising activity took only two months instead of three months. The total is about $ 1.1 million.
GTA 6 rumors and more
However, Rockstar will of course continue to work on other projects. There are rumors that employees are already busy developing GTA 6, and fans still want to announce. Many players already have some interesting ideas for the setup.
