As we all know, GTA 6 will be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, but Sony may have now finalized an exclusive deal with Rockstar. At least, that’s what new statements from a leaker suggest.
Since the first trailer was broadcast, there has been little news about GTA 6, which is set to be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2025. The release will take place simultaneously on both platforms, but Sony is said to have managed to secure an exclusive deal with Rockstar Games for the potential action hit.
The insider MAGG has now published a new issue of the XNC Podcast and claimed that Sony had managed to conclude a marketing agreement with Rockstar Games regarding GTA 6. Such a deal would allow Sony to advertise its PlayStation 5 as well as the PlayStation 5 Pro around and with the action hit GTA 6.
The insider made it clear once again that the deal will have no impact on the availability of the game on the Xbox Series X/S, but Xbox fans should not expect any major marketing around GTA 6 and the Xbox consoles. Rather, Sony is likely to focus on the upcoming PS5 Pro around the Rockstar hit.
The marketing agreement will be revealed when the second trailer for GTA 6 is released, as it will apparently also feature a PlayStation logo. According to the report, this second trailer is rumored to be released for the Game Awards 2024 in December of this year, but at least this broadcast date cannot yet be definitively verified.
That MAGG could be right with its statements on the marketing deal was independently confirmed by another insider RedGamingTech picked up and presumably verified. Here, too, there is talk of extensive marketing in relation to the PS5 Pro and the action blockbuster.
In view of these reports, it is conceivable that Sony could also offer a bundle consisting of PS5 Pro and GTA 6 at release. We will of course keep you updated!
