The whole world is desperately waiting for news about GTA 6, but so far Rockstar Games has been skillfully holding back. We are only given small tidbits of information, which are not always positive. For example, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, has now commented on a possible release in the Xbox Game Pass.
Apart from a first trailer, there has been very little information about Grand Theft Auto VI so far. At least last week we were confirmed that the planned release date of fall 2025 is still valid. Of course, a lot can still change, but as we all know, hope dies last.

However, all of you hoping for a release on Xbox Game Pass are now in for a major setback. In September 2022, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick stated that it made no economic sense for the company to integrate new titles directly into subscription services such as Xbox Game Pass.
Of course, fans still had hope, but in another interview with Gamesindustry he finally crushed it. While he acknowledges the appeal of such services, he says the addition of a high-profile title would get fans to sign up for a subscription, at least for a short time. In other words, he understands why Microsoft is so aggressive in adding new titles from day one.
But for Take-Two, this doesn’t change anything: “No, our decisions are not influenced by this. Because our decisions are rational.” In other words: The company wants to dominate the market with its own products and, according to Zelnick, this can be done without services such as Game Pass or similar. A total of 15 main games are to be released by 2027, in addition to some remakes and remastered versions.
