Jason Schreier is one of the best-connected insiders – and he of all people doesn't want to believe that GTA 6 will be released on time in 2025.
It's been more than a year since the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI was released and we haven't even seen a second trailer yet. The release of the game is also further away, but is officially announced for autumn 2025. But one of the most renowned insiders in the video game industry doesn't really believe that.
In this case, what is meant is Jason Schreier, who has often drawn attention to himself with accurate leaks and information in the past, has published well-founded reports and has also published reports about Grand Theft Auto VI. That screamer now expressed himself via Kinda Funny Games Daily on the topic and doesn't sound particularly optimistic.
First of all: Schreier continues to hear from his sources that the development of the supposed action blockbuster is on schedule. However, his personal feeling is that Rockstar Games will ultimately postpone GTA 6 and not release it until 2026. It would be a real “shock” for him if this didn’t happen and GTA 6 could actually be released in the coming year 2025.
Unfortunately, Rockstar's history also fits Schreier's feeling, as major projects like Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 were actually noticeably pushed back – sometimes even several times. Although Jason Schreier's forecast in this case does not appear to be based on sources and is speculation on his part, his assessment cannot be completely dismissed given his years of experience in the industry and his knowledge of such large-scale projects.
For the moment we have no choice but to wait and see what happens. It would at least be nice if Rockstar would slowly but surely release a second trailer, right?
