The first trailer for GTA 6 was released at the beginning of December and triggered the expected hype. Since then, there have been more and more imitators who have recreated the video in one way or another – now in LEGO form, for example.
It was to be expected: After the release of the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, a number of talented fans picked up the source material in order to recreate it in other ways. For example, there is now a replica of the entire video in the style of the previous GTA 5 – and now there is also the almost obligatory and universally popular LEGO version.
The talented YouTuber World of Shrimpy is responsible for this, having recreated the entire GTA 6 reveal trailer using LEGO bricks and stop-motion animation. The result is a completely authentic reenactment of the trailer in LEGO style, which of course also uses Tom Petty’s classic “Love is a Long Road” from 1989 as musical accompaniment.
Otherwise, it must be emphasized that, with a few exceptions, the trailer really consists of a series of individual frames for which LEGO sets and figures have been positioned individually. According to World of Shrimpy, this required “just over two weeks” of continuous work. The result is praised by many fans, who describe the LEGO trailer as “absolutely incredible” or “perfect”.
In addition, World of Shrimpy has also published a comparison video that directly compares the original GTA 6 trailer and the LEGO version and shows how much attention to detail went into the stop-motion animation.
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently in development for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S and is scheduled for release in 2025; There is no specific release date yet.
