The MCU invited itself to State of Play with the free game Marvel Rivals and used the opportunity to deliver a lot of very good news to those who wanted to try it out.
Two months after its presentation and a first very closed beta, Marvel Rivals was talked about again during State of Play. The free multiplayer game from NetEase Games has brought some good news for fans of the MCU and hero shooters.
Marvel Rivals is back with numerous announcements
Until now, Marvel Rivals was only announced for PC. But its appearance during State of Play allowed NetEase to clarify that this promising new free game will also be released on PS5 and Xbox Series. After a first closed beta reserved exclusively for the American public, the title will still be tried out by a few lucky people in July. This will be available on PC and consoles, provided of course that you are selected to participate. Note that PS5 players are also entitled to an exclusive skin for Spider-Man, an intellectual property of Sony.
But that wasn’t all that Marvel Rivals had to announce. We also got to see two new characters that weren’t previously introduced. One of them is none other than the iconic Venom. The second is the lesser-known but equally charismatic Adam Warlock. Other superheroes and villains shone in some fight clips such as Tornado, The Punisher, Hela and Magneto. NetEase’s free-to-play game also took the opportunity to put some emphasis on landscape destruction, which can radically change the course of a game.
Marvel Rivals therefore continues to show its certain potential for MCU fans and those disappointed by Overwatch 2. However, we’ll see you, with any luck, in July to see what it has in store for its controller or keyboard/mouse in hand on the occasion of the next closed beta.
