- Read us 3 things we would like for the rest of season 17.
- Also included: More reunions on the beach for Meredith and the love story of the century!
On March 11, 2021 the long-lasting hospital series “Grey’s Anatomy“after a winter break with the 2nd half of Season 17 back. On the US channel ABC Meredith Gray (Ellen Pompeo) will then continue to fight for her life – and the rest of the Gray Sloan Memorial Hospital against the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic!
Grey’s Anatomy viewers and fans have always been loudly expressing their wishes for their favorite series, and we, too, have put together 3 things that we would like to see in the rest of the current season!
1: Winston and Maggie’s NON-virtual relationship
Even before season 17, leading actress Ellen Pompeo praised chief physician Maggie (Kelly McCreary) and Winston (Anthony Hill) as the new dream couple on “Grey’s Anatomy”. Due to the corona pandemic, however, the sweet, fresh relationship between the two mainly took place via FaceTime and Zoom dates.
In the winter finale of “Grey’s Anatomy” Winston was now surprisingly with a bouquet of flowers in hand in front of Maggie’s apartment door and declared that he could no longer stand the long-distance relationship. Now that Winston and Maggie have moved from virtual to real life, we want to see the love story of the century for the rest of season 17 too!
2: More reunion on the beach for Meredith
Grey’s Anatomy viewers were surprised and shocked when Meredith Grey’s late husband Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) showed up in feverish dreams in season 17. The return of George O’Malley (TR Knight) also moved the series viewers – not least because of the wonderful reunions always meant terrible things to Meredith
But now there should be more reunions with deceased fan favorites in season 17! How about if the plane crash victims Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) and Lexie Gray (Chyler Leigh) appeared in a double pack?
3: A little escapism and distraction from Corona
The sensitive treatment of the all-important COVID-19 topic in “Grey’s Anatomy” is particularly significant for US viewers: The series demonstrated how important it is to wear protective masks against the virus – which is the case with the corona pandemic Unfortunately, this shattered United States still cannot be taken for granted.
“Grey’s Anatomy” season 17 also showed that non-white Americans contract COVID-19 at an above-average rate – this is also highly political!
Grey’s Anatomy: Test your knowledge of the doctors at the Gray Sloan Memorial!
When was Meredith’s actress Ellen Pompeo born?
And the 17th season of “Grey’s” highlighted the particular stress and fears that the pandemic is causing among hospital staff.
All of this is exemplary and helpful in the fight against Corona! Still, it would be nice if “Grey’s Anatomy” finds a better balance in the second half of season 17 and gives viewers a little more escapism and distraction from the corona pandemic. After all, the whole world is currently suffering from the terrible virus disease – a series like “Grey’s Anatomy” can also invite you to dream next to all seriousness …
