Recently, publisher Electronic Arts bought the racing game specialists from Codemasters – and today, after F1 2021, the next new game was to be seen under the EA flag. Right at the beginning of EA Play, Grid Legends was announced as a new offshoot of the popular racing series.

This is what awaits you in Grid Legends
The last grid for the time being was only able to convince to a limited extent in 2019, because despite a good driving experience and ample scope, the title offered far too few new ideas. But that should now change with Grid Legends.
Elaborate story: The big figurehead should be an elaborately staged story. In the story you play an underdog who takes on the powerful racing team Ravenwest Motorsport on the way to victory in the Grid World Series.
The highlight should be the cutscenes in which real actors can be seen in front of virtual backgrounds – so these are not motion capturing recordings. For this came the so-called Extended-Reality-Technologie used, which was also able to provide impressive immersion in the Star Wars series The Mandalorian. Among other things, the British actor Ncuti Gatwa, who became known through the Netflix series Sex Education, is involved.

Story mode already played an important role in the recently released F1 2021. You can read again in our test what we liked and what Codemasters should do better in Grid Legends.
Big variety: Anyone who has ever played a grid knows that there is always a large selection of different racing series on offer here. From touring cars to muscle cars to drift races, there should be something for every racing game fan. But the selection is not only diverse when it comes to the cars that can be selected. A total of over 130 different racetracks and street circuits will be available for release.

When does Grid Legends appear? There is no exact release date yet. The publication is currently planned for the coming year 2022.
