Grand Theft Auto 4 will return to Steam next month, though not without changes.
Rockstar has released relevant updates GTA 4Steam page to explain how / when the game is back on sale. Of course, GTA 4 and its DLC could not be purchased at Valve's store earlier this year.
Developers are now ready to bring the game back to Steam and have revealed what will happen. First, the main game and the Free City DLC episodes will be combined into a separate version called GTA 4: Full Version
Rockstar will also sell the full version on the Rockstar Games Launcher. However, this version lacks some features from the original version. Multiplayer games and leaderboards were eliminated along with Windows Live Games (GFWL). Some radio stations have also been temporarily deleted, including RamJam FM, Self-actualization FM and Vice City FM.
Those who have already installed GTA 4 or Episodes will receive an update in March to convert their installation to the Complete Edition. This is a required update and its size will vary depending on what you have.
Since this is an automatic update, the names of these two games will be changed in everyone's Steam library to GTA 4: Full version whether or not you own the DLC. However, this will not give you access to content you don't own-just download everything.
Outside of Steam, players who have purchased a game through the Games for Windows Live store will need to link their Social Club account so they can update their copy to GTA 4: Full.
Finally, Rockstar warns that you may not be able to install a copy of GTA 4 until this transition is complete.
