The gaming year 2024 could look rosier, but GTA 6 will probably save the industry. An analyst is already talking about the most important release in video game history.

For years there have been regular adventurous rumors and claims about GTA 6, now Rockstar Games has finally announced the title and also released a first trailer.
For analyst Mat Piscatella, who works for the company Circana, it is a superlative title. “There probably hasn’t been a more important thing in the industry so far, so no pressure,” he said in an interview with Gamesindustry.biz.
In the interview, Piscatella mainly talks about how 2024 will be a difficult year for gamers. There is a lack of large game productions, especially compared to 2023. Sony, for example, has already announced that it will no longer publish any PlayStation-exclusive top titles in the coming fiscal year.
And things aren’t looking any better when it comes to new hardware. A new Nintendo console will probably not appear until 2025 and a PS5 Pro can only be expected in 2024.
