Teenager arrested on suspicion of crime grand theft auto 6 Hackers charged with extortion rock star over the game’s source code.
Prosecutors for the teenage Arion Kurtaj told a London court that he allegedly threatened Rockstar that he would release the source code for an upcoming Grand Theft Auto episode, Reuters reported. He apparently sent the aforementioned threat via a Slack message, which was sent to all Rockstar employees. The Rockstar hack comes days after Kurtaj also allegedly hacked Revolut and Uber. Kurtaj was charged with 12 offences, including three counts of extortion, two counts of fraud and six charges under the Computer Misuse Act. It is also important to note that the psychiatrist assessed him as unfit to stand trial.

Based on the above assessment, the jury will only decide whether he committed the alleged acts, not whether he is guilty. Kurtaj is also accused of extorting broadband provider BT and mobile network EE along with an unnamed 17-year-old man. According to prosecutors, the pair were “key figures” in the hacking group Lapsus$.
Last September, GTA 6 leaks came to light, showing off extensive footage and screenshots of the game in development. What was shown looked like a typical GTA event, and fits in with coverage of the game from earlier this year. Rockstar also confirmed the leak, noting that it still plans to “properly introduce you to the game when the next one is ready.”
Right now, aside from reports of the game, not much is known about the game, let alone which platforms it might release on. It’s possible it could be released as early as next year, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
