Whether GTA 6 actually returns to Vice City and back in the 80s, we currently simply do not know. However, the fans do not want to give up hope and base this assumption on Rumors and alleged leaks from unconfirmed sources.
With a post on Instagram has now Rockstar himself stabbed into the wasp nest: A split photo shows basketball player Lebron James holding a copy of GTA: Vice City. The picture obviously comes from the time of clunky clamshell phones, PS2 versions of video games, gigantic remote controls and tasteless interiors – in other words, the 2000s.
Failed social media post or rock star "conspiracy"?
On Reddit, the photo that was removed from Rockstar Games shortly afterwards brought the GTA community into discussion: While some suspect that this may have actually confirmed the Vice City rumors, others believe that this is an unfortunate posting -Miss acted.
After all, Rockstar Games did not post the photo itself, but shared the contribution of the NBAoncourt channel – which users in the corresponding Reddit thread also point out.
So it would be anything but absurd that the Rockstar social media team thought sharing the picture was a good idea at first, but noticed at second glance that the post into the hands of the Vice City speculators. That would explain why the Instagram post was removed shortly after it was posted on the Rockstar site.
Rockstar just posted this photo of young LeBron James with a copy of GTA Vice City in front of him. Could this mean something or is it a simple appreciation post? (I'm assuming it is the latter) from r / GTA6
However, not every GTA fan is satisfied with this explanation. Among other things, Rockstar is accused of the developers deliberately playing with the expectations of the fans. In addition, some players believe that Rockstar would "make no mistakes" in this regard, and sharing the Lebron James photo with GTA: Vice City must have been a calculated post.
It also gets a bit conspiratorial, when it is said that Rockstar would be "under one roof" with the basketball account NBAoncourt. Perhaps, however, one should recall the words of GTA-5 actor Ned Luke that it is better not to believe everything that is on the Internet.
Is GTA 6 actually returning to Vice City?
Even if it's the most stubborn rumor about Grand Theft Auto 6, it is currently impossible to say with certainty whether Rockstar will return to Vice City with the next installment in the series. The speculation was taken up again and again and supported with references to a drug cartel setting in the 80s.
