GTA 6 is definitely the most anticipated game right now, and that’s very clear with some incredibly impressive numbers.
When the trailer for the highly anticipated GTA 6 was released, we knew it would be a huge success and drive the entire internet crazy. However, little did we know that the game would perform exceptionally well and break all records. So much so that it has given rise to numerous parodies and even official inspiration from major brands. It’s pretty impressive.
When the GTA 6 trailer breaks records
Since its release in December 2023, the GTA 6 trailer has been a huge success and has now overtaken Minecraft to become the second most viewed video game trailer of all time. However, she remains behind the Subway Surfers, who hold the record. The most surprising thing is that many players don’t even know about it since it is a mobile game. Be careful though, this is one of the most downloaded titles in the world. As a reminder: 2.7 billion downloads were recorded in 2017…
Separately, Rockstar’s trailer for the upcoming GTA episode has racked up 168 million views. In comparison, the Minecraft trailer released in December 2011 has 169,800,171 views. GTA 6 has not only surpassed Minecraft, but also other big names such as Clash of Clans, Team Fortress 2 and GTA 5. That is simply impressive. However, it’s important to note that we’re still a long way from Baby Shark with its 13 billion views (yes, absolutely) or the music video for Despacito with its 8 billion views. If it remains music, you still wonder.
GTA 6 is scheduled to release in 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Earlier this week, singer and songwriter T-Pain announced that he was collaborating on the game with Rockstar Games, although his exact role in the project is unknown at this point.
