Rockstar recently released an official statement seriously ramping up the hype surrounding GTA 6, which it says promises to be “stunning.”
While GTA 6 is rightfully one of the nominees for the most anticipated games of 2025 at the Game Awards 2024, Rockstar's title recently received the same award at the Golden Joystick Awards. By accepting the trophy, the studio took the opportunity to highlight why the highly anticipated game deserves so much praise.
GTA 6 confirms its status as one of the most anticipated games of 2025
Despite the controversy surrounding the Game Awards, particularly regarding the naming of Shadow of the World Tree, the Elden Ring DLC, as GOTY 2024, the selection of the most anticipated games in 2025 seems relatively relevant (namely Death Stranding 2, Ghost of Yotei, GTA 6, Metroid Prime 4 and Monster Hunter Wilds). While we were at home waiting very early for this ceremony on December 13th, the Golden Joystick Awards were recently held. During this time, Black Myth Wukong was named “Ultimate Game of the Year”.
GTA 6 was also in the running for the most anticipated game of 2025 and deservedly received this award. Rockstar therefore gave a speech to thank those affected for this trophy. “ There are an incredible number of people doing amazing things in GTA 6, absolutely amazing things, so… It's an honor to come here and accept this award on behalf of everyone. I wish there were more of us here. Thank you everyone, and yes, we will tell you more soon ».
The latest news says that the return to Vice City with Lucia and Jason should take place in the fall of 2025, a priori only for PS5 and Xbox Series. Unfortunately, we'll probably have to come back later for a PC version. While the first trailer for GTA 6 is about to celebrate its first birthday, we hope that Rockstar Games will treat us to a new trailer soon. Probably not during the 2024 Game Awards, although there is hope.
