Last week a new update arrived in GTA Online with a dump of content: drift racing, animals, interface improvements to improve our comfort and chapter Chop Shopwhich includes everything from car thefts to pure style 60 seconds until the arrival of two patrol cars and a police van.
Although the update presents the same problem as always (without money it is almost inaccessible), it is enough for a friend to have enough resources to acquire a scrapyard and do their missions. And so it has been. We have placed ourselves under the orders of Yusuf Amir to enroll in one of the five robberies proposed by the new business.
The car we have chosen to steal has been a Gauntlet Hellfire that was running in Arena War. Suffice it to say that it had been years since he had entered that world of gasoline and metal inspired by Mad Max: Fury Road. Although this time it was not as competitors, but as participants in a coup.
The Duggan Robbery
The new car thefts in GTA Online They are structured in the same way as the coups: we must carry out a series of preparatory missions to end up accessing the definitive mission. The only difference is that common knocks are usually followed from the blackboard of our apartment or company and in this case it is done from a wall with invisible ink in our scrapyard.
The reference to the movie
Once everything was ready, one of my companions selected the car to steal: a Gauntlet Hellfire. What we didn’t know is that the preparatory missions were going to lead us to destroy transmission towers and even assault Merryweather to rob them once again. Not to mention getting a truck and fleeing from the police in the middle of the city.
The preparatory missions are quite entertaining and light. After all, we were preparing a car robbery and not a bank robbery. And it was definitely a mistake to believe that, because this particular car has one of the most epic final missions of all.
The first phase is to drive a truck to the Arena War stadium and enter with some credentials. All stolen during the preparatory missions. Once inside, we put on our masks and mowed down everyone present in the VIP room. My companions choose rifles, although I prefer the Spas-12 shotgun to score this little Russian Nada.
The next is to locate our Hellfire Gauntlet and stop it with the EMPs of a couple of available drones. It’s not an easy task and I don’t mind admitting that driving those things is not my strong point. The next step caught us all off guard: entering the Arena War track while a race is taking place to reach the car, steal it, deactivate a bomb and take it to our scrapyard.
I am the first to reach the car, but my partner suddenly decides that it is a good idea to throw a car on top of me after hitting it with a truck. I die. I reappear at the entrance to the circuit, so I shoot a runner and steal his car. Why the pilots carried weapons is a matter for which we will surely never have an explanation.
Things get out of hand to such an extent that I end up with flat tires and shooting the enemy AI so that my companions can scramble out to deactivate the bomb and hand over the car. I try to get to the scrapyard with them after stealing a poor lady’s SUV, but not even that. The mission ends early and I appear in the workshop, where our prize is already displayed.
Although it does not have the complexity of a conventional heist, the theft of the Hellfire Gauntlet has two equally important elements: epicness and lots of fun. I never thought I’d set foot in Arena War again. I had forgotten he existed, but thanks to this mission I may stop by one day to do some tricks to the Death Race. If you can afford a scrapyard, I encourage you to try car thefts. You’re going to love them!
