This improves the remaster trilogy graphically
With the remaster trilogy, GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas are reissued using the Unreal Engine. This of course allows developer Rockstar to tweak the graphics of the three games. The official blog post talks about the following improvements that should give the GTA classics a modern look:
- improved weather and water effects
- revised lighting and shadows
- HD textures for buildings, weapons, vehicles and roads
- revised character models
- Environment improvements through smooth surfaces and reflections
- greater visibility in the open game world
- 4K resolution and 60fps for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S
- Nvidia DLSS support for PC

This improves the remaster trilogy playfully
The remaster trilogy doesn’t just work on the graphics. There will also be some playful improvements so that the gameplay is no longer as old-fashioned as it was 20 (!) Years ago. For this, Rockstar has pre-buttoned the following aspects:
- updated weapon and radio selection
- revised mini-maps
- Controls and aiming mechanics in the style of GTA 5
- failed missions can be restarted immediately
- special control for Nintendo Switch with touchscreen and Joy-Cons
