The Overwatch 2 beta has already begun, but only a select few are allowed to play so far. If you’re one of the unlucky ones who didn’t get a key, you still have the chance today to secure guaranteed access to the PvP beta. However, there are a few hurdles to be aware of.
If you’re unsure whether Overwatch 2 is worth the effort, read what Mary has to say about the PvP mode alpha:
Overwatch 2
Blizzard is heading in the right direction
This way you are guaranteed to get a beta key
Keys will be distributed via Twitch Drop, so you’ll need to watch specific streamers playing the beta. Specifically, you must in the period from April 27, 2022 at 7 p.m. to April 28, 2022 at 3 a.m on participating channels 4 hours long watch. A complete list of all channels can be found on the official site von Overwatch.
You must also be logged into Twitch and link your account to your Battle.net account to obtain a key. You don’t have to own Overwatch
But if you do own the game, it’s an advantage if you still have it installed on your hard drive. This may save you time downloading and installing the beta.
What does the beta offer?
In the beta, PC players can try out the new heroine Sojourn from April 26th to May 17th, which was already introduced with a trailer:

You can also play the new PvP modes like Push and 5v5 mode on four new maps. Also included are reworks of well-known heroes: Orisa, Doomfist, Bastion and Sombra have been revised. However, the new story mode is not part of the beta.
Blizzard’s communication with the community hasn’t been particularly good during Overwatch 2’s development. In the podcast, Micha, Mary and Peter discuss the problems the publisher’s service games have and what is being done about them:
